Dr. Lauren Weber Wolf, DSW, MSW, LCSW
Lauren Wolf, DSW, MSW, LCSW (she/her) is a doctor of social work and licensed clinical social worker with 20 years of experience in hospitals, outpatient medical & physical medicine rehabilitation clinics, inpatient rehabilitation facilities/acute rehabilitation, and community agencies. She has served individuals and families across the lifespan, bringing a holistic and compassionate lens to her practice. She is proud to be a professional member of the Aging Life Care Association® and a new proud Rotarian committed to the motto "Service Above Self."
Dr. Wolf began her career as a prevention educator at a sexual assault center, where she developed a deep commitment to advocacy and healing. During her Master of Social Work program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, she specialized in healthcare and aging, inspired by close relationships with her grandparents and great-grandparents. An internship in a hospital setting solidified her passion for supporting older adults and people with disabilities. Dr. Wolf also has extensive experience working with women, children, and youth facing health and trauma-related challenges.
In 2013, Dr. Wolf participated in a transformative international social work exchange. This opportunity ignited her passion for citizen diplomacy and global social work education. The experiences shaped her lifelong learning journey and her commitment to serving with a global, equity-centered philosophy.
More recently, Dr. Wolf served in multiple roles at the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, an acute rehabilitation hospital and affiliated outpatient clinics. She supported individuals and families navigating serious illness, injuries, disabilities, and trauma. Her work with survivors of gun violence and their families inspired her doctoral research, completed in 2024 at Millersville University of Pennsylvania. Her research and dissertation focused on social workers’ knowledge, attitudes, beliefs, and practices related to community gun violence in Chicago.
Alongside her professional expertise, Dr. Wolf draws from lived experience with family crises, disability, loss, and transition planning. These experiences deepen her commitment to Aging Life Care™ management and disability support, enabling her to bring empathy and insight to her work.
Outside of her professional roles, Dr. Wolf is an accomplished pianist who double-majored in music during her undergraduate studies. She has enjoyed teaching and sharing music with older adults. To sustain balance and resilience, she practices mindfulness, yoga, and Pilates, and enjoys spending time outdoors, listening to live music, and nurturing joy in her daily life.
Dr. Wolf believes serving others is her true calling. She considers it both an honor and a privilege to walk alongside individuals and families, finding meaning and purpose in helping others thrive.
When we care for ourselves deeply, we can better care for our families, our colleagues, those we serve, and our communities at large. - Dr. Wolf
